We all listen to real people. It does not matter what the story is - good or bad.
We pick up something when we hear true account. A difficulty that knocks us off our pedestal. Or a triumph that makes us hope we can surpass our challenges. Honesty transcends.
Be Clear
We need to be clear. Even a good story gets wasted when muddled.
Organize at least a 3x3 plot - 3 highlights with 3 sub-segments each. Or share the outlines, expound on each, then summarize the take homes. The point? Be organized.
Be Empathic
The story is about us as it is about them. Actually, more for them.
So how did the story benefit us? How will it benefit them? The narrative becomes more compelling if we think more of the latter. Drive change by being more concerned of our audience.
